Wellbeing at home with Araamu Spa

Pandemic or not, taking care of your wellbeing and health should be a priority for all of us. And since we can’t all spend every day unwinding on a tropical island, it’s important to factor some well-deserved self-care time into our routines. Our team of therapists from Araamu Spa has put together some of their top tips for keeping yourself on track.

Treat yourself

Now more than ever, we all deserve a little treat. Whether it’s some luxury skincare, a manicure or something new for your home, a spot of retail therapy can be a great way to boost your mood. You could even treat yourself to a holiday or a weekend trip to get away from it all.

Look after your body

It’s true what they say, your body is a temple, and like all temples, it needs to be cared for. Our physical health plays a big part in how we feel, and when things get difficult, it can be easy to fall into a slump that ends up making you feel worse. Eating well, regular exercise, and a little bit of self-care can really make a difference to your mood. 

Reconnect with those around you

It can be easy to ignore those group chats and find yourself avoiding people when you’re not in the mood to talk, but it’s important to stay in touch with the people who matter most to you. Set aside some time to call your friends and family, and check in on them regularly – they might be struggling too!

Don’t be afraid to disconnect

As important as it is to stay connected, taking time out from social media, the news, and even friends and family can help to stabilize your mood. Trying to stay connected without face-to-face contact can be a challenge, so don’t be afraid to switch off from time to time, or set yourself limits on your devices.

Get plenty of sleep

Good quality sleep makes a big difference to how we feel, so getting enough is key. Try to maintain your regular sleeping pattern and stick to good sleep practices. The odd late night won’t cause you too many problems, but too much irregularity can have some serious side effects.
