Lemon Grass

Lemon grass or cymbopogon citratus flexuosus, comes from poaceae, grass family. Itsstalks and leaves are the used part in the plant. It is fresh and lemon like, with a hint of rose fragrance. The pleasant aroma of lemon grass is very dominating. It has its origins in Asia, especially in India it is cultivated as a medicinal herb and for perfumes, and in rest of tropical asia it is used as an important culinary herb and spice, especially in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesian islands. In Thailand, finely ground fresh lemon grass is added to curry pastes, its fine fragrance goes well with poultry, fish and sea food. In our Sun Star, Thai Restaurant you can experience mouth watering Thai Tom Yam Soup (could be made using chicken, fish, prawns or vegetables), which is flavored by our farm fresh lemon grass from the spice garden.
