Jamaican Mountain Sage (Lantana Camara) Lantana comes from Verbenaceae (verbena or vervain family).This is a tough evergreen shrub from the tropics. You will find this everywhere in Sun Island .The species grow to 6' high and may spread to 8'. Stems and leaves are covered with hairs and are rough in texture. This plant has an strong aroma but beautiful flowers that are very attractive to butterflies. Also on a positive note, it is covered with flowers usually all year round and it comes in many colors which includes red, yellow and exotic mixed colors.
